Meta is suing a former executive for joining an artificial intelligence startup.
In the case, first reported by Bloomberg, Mehta alleged that Deepinder Singh Khurana took personal documents with him when he left the company.
The suit accuses Khurana, a former vice-chairman of the Ministry of Infrastructure, of breaching his contract by "obtaining private, highly sensitive, confidential and proprietary documents relating to Meta's business and personnel".
Mr. Mehta called the move a “shocking” betrayal and accused Mr. Khurana of “brazen dishonesty.”
Khurana claimed he uploaded internal documents, including the company's "top talent" file, to his personal Google Drive and Dropbox shortly before his departure.
“In total, the confidential, confidential and non-public information contained in these tables provides inside information about how Meta makes compensation decisions and the names of Meta's employees alone.” Employee level, performance and skills.
According to the information, Khurana is currently working for Omniva, which operates in the Middle East
Meta claimed in its lawsuit that eight employees named in the documents also left the AI startup.
"We take this type of egregious misconduct seriously and are committed to protecting the confidential information of our company and our employees," Meta said in a statement to Business Insider.
Khurana reached out to BI via LinkedIn for comment but received no response.
